Y(v)ES!

I found these while thrifting on Saturday.

It was a Cinderella moment when I slid my foot into one, complete with a singing chorus and heavenly light from above...

The photo doesn't do justice to the gold piping detail or to the cut of the shoe itself, which is near perfection.

They'll need a little cleaning up and new heel caps, but soon enough my feet and these shoes will be like old friends.

Speaking of Turkey Day...

Not a spare nook or cranny in the fridge. There were bubbles and readings and beautiful desserts and beers of all kinds and sizes and the food just kept coming.

In all, thanks to Keith, there were FIVE different turkey preparations:

turkey tamales, turkey meatballs, turkey tenders, turkey enchiladas and sous vide turkey breasts wrapped in home-cured prosciutto.

I'm not kidding you when I say we ate like kings.

Everything that keeps me together

We went and walked off our thanksgiving meal(s) last weekend.
It was supposed to rain all day, but the sun shined lovely and the air was crisp and fresh.
I later drank whiskey on the rocks, did the chicken dance, ate scallops fresh out of the ocean and then fell asleep in the upright position by the fire.
Why so many weekdays, I ask?

Yes I post a lot about him, but he has become a great presence in my life.
A father figure, if you will...
He took me for coffee and we talked about everything, from the history of my neighborhood to babies and riches.
I feel lucky, and that's a fact, Jack.

It isn't just in the looks, either.
Mr. Newman was truly for the greater good of mankind, as is Gary, who also happens to be the father of three very outstanding people, two of whom are my greatest friends in the world!
If that isn't a wondrous gift to humanity, I'm not sure what is.
